Talent Curation
I cannot overstate how much I enjoy working with other artists; they are the primary catalyst for my creative world-building and remain my favorite part of the art direction process. I like to look beyond standard industry channels to source creatives who may sit outside the traditional scope of a project. The right artist with raw talent or a unique approach can easily become an ideal fit with thoughtful and precise art direction.
Below you will find a selection of projects featuring some of my favorite artist collaborations. You can also explore a dedicated page highlighting creatives I have partnered with through the years.
Emily Taylor-Hicks
Emily is one of those artists with whom it’s so easy and fun to partner. She’s as professional as they come — communicative, setting clear boundaries for herself and the project, and consistently providing lots of fun options. I always look forward to working with her.

Marc Johns
I adore Marc Johns.
I was super excited to pitch him as a key artist for the Bird & Quill brand I helped launch in 2016. I was a long-time fan of his artwork and voice, and was thrilled both that he was interested in collaborating and leadership was open to the partnership.
He and I talked a lot about which of his existing designs might work for our customer, and I made him a pinkie promise to not muck up the cards with too much faff — just a dab of foil or a simple handmade touch here and there.
